Oxygen delivery

Nasal cannulas suit low flow rates and let the patient talk and eat. Medium concentration masks deliver higher flows. Adult and paediatric sizes are listed separately; check the size before ordering.

Nebulisers and spacers

Nebulisers turn liquid medication into a fine mist to breathe in. A spacer used with a puffer is often an alternative for many patients, and both are kept in emergency and first aid kits.

Airway and resuscitation

Guedel oropharyngeal airways come in colour-coded sizes. Supraglottic airways such as i-gel are used by trained staff. Bag-valve-mask resuscitation kits come in adult, child and infant sizes, and the Oxy-Viva combines oxygen therapy with resuscitation.

Airway and oxygen equipment must be used by people trained in its use.
