Choosing a medical freezer

Medical freezers are built to hold a set temperature steadily and to alarm when they drift, which domestic freezers do not. -40°C units suit most laboratory samples and pharmaceuticals; ultra-low freezers that reach -60°C or below are for samples that need deeper storage. Spark-safe models are designed for storing flammable materials. Pair a freezer with a temperature data logger so excursions are recorded.
