A monovalent, inactivated poliovirus vaccine for active immunisation against polio in infants, children and adults. Registered in Australia and supplied as a single-dose 0.5 mL prefilled syringe for subcutaneous (SC) administration.

Indication & age: Active immunisation against poliomyelitis; registered for use from ≥2 months of age (refer to the Australian Immunisation Handbook for schedule specifics).

Dose & route: 0.5 mL SC. PI guidance: primary series of three 0.5 mL doses at ~8-week intervals; a booster at 4 years; adults at continuing risk may receive a booster about every 10 years. Follow local programs/Handbook.

Presentation: 1 × 0.5 mL prefilled syringe (single dose).
Composition & excipients (per 0.5 mL)
D-antigen units: type 1 (Mahoney) 28, type 2 (MEF-1) 7, type 3 (Saukett) 26. Excipients include phenoxyethanol (≈2–3 µL), formaldehyde (≈2–20 µg) and polysorbate 80; may contain traces of neomycin, streptomycin, polymyxin B and bovine serum albumin.
